The ordeal of Umbrian commuters continues, especially those from Terni and Spoleto who traveled every day to Rome. Yes, because on Monday another afternoon of passion took place due to delays and cancellations of the fast regional trains returning from the capital to Umbria, where a huge construction site on the 20 million euro railway line is underway between Foligno and Terni.
Disservices were reported on the 3.46pm train which left from Rome Termini and remained blocked 20 minutes after departure even before arriving in Tiburtina, while the Umbrian commuters lost another 20 minutes at Orte, where the train was stopped to allow passage other trains. The final result is that the train took almost two and a half hours to return to Terni compared to travel times from Rome to Terni which generally fluctuate around 70-80 minutes. Things go even worse for those from Spoleto who take a bus from Terni to return home.
Problems also for workers and students who should have returned to Umbria with the 5.02pm train. In this case the fast regional train should have started from Termini, but from here it was cancelled, with the departure suddenly moved to Tiburtina, with all due respect to those who arrived just minutes before the scheduled departure at Termini.
Last but not least, there were also problems with the 7.02pm train which crosses Umbria from Termini. In this case the fast regional train was canceled and commuters were given the solution of the 7.16pm train to Viterbo with a change in Orte.
