Off we go “Route change” Nave Italia’s 2024 solidarity campaign which will take place in about 6 months9 Italian ports and 1 abroad. After the winter break which allowed the Tender to Nave Italia Foundation to collect and evaluate the numerous requests for participation in the 2024 campaign and for the brigantine to undergo the usual maintenance work, Nave Italia is ready to face a new solidarity crossing. They will go on board, in the company of the Navy crew and the Foundation’s scientific staff 21 between associations and non-profit organizations of the third sector coming from all of Italy and one from South Africa, to experience the benefits of the Nave Italia method.
Of note among the numerous projects: in May “The journey of ESPRIMO“, the project promoted by a group of clinicians and researchers from the Department of Neuroscience, Biomedicine and Movement Sciences of the University of Verona which involved patients between 18 and 45 years old suffering from multiple sclerosis; while on June 25th, it returns “Academy to Italy 2024 created in collaboration with the Royal Cape Yacht Club Sailing Academy of Cape Town”the project promoted by the Sailing Academy of the Royal Cape Yacht Club of Cape Town which, again this year, will target young people from some of the most difficult areas of Cape Town. In addition to solidarity projects, several initiatives are planned: the Siad Gold Cylinder Trophy (24 – 26 May) in Santa Margherita Ligure e the Navy Festival scheduled for June 10th in La Spezia.
There are many new projects to report, including May 21st “Revealing ourselves…”, promoted by the “Soldati” headquarters in Gattinara of the Pastore Hotel Institute of Varallo in which guests on board will be students and former students with Down syndrome; on June 4th that of the Ronald McDonald ETS Children’s Foundation “Brothers of A-Mare”, which will see the involvement of children suffering from serious pathologies and hosted at the Ronald Houses in Rome, Brescia and Florence and their respective siblings, in an experience of common life that helps them recover their sense of unity and brotherhood. Following, on June 11th, “Let’s go up to the shore”a project aimed at blind or visually impaired people between 14 and 35 years of age wanted by the I.Ri.Fo.R Onlus – Institute for Research, Training and Rehabilitation of Rome.
July 16th and 23rd “Each in their own way… on the same route” And “Onboard Medialab: on the wings of the wind” and proposed respectively by Talenti tra le cielo Onlus of Milan and Centro Ripamonti Onlus of Cusano Milanino, will instead bring on board children with Specific Learning Disorder (DSA). On August 6th he will embark “The Ship of Signs”, project in which the beneficiaries will be a group of users of La Casa delle Luci di Roma suffering from serious communication disabilities, who, together with deaf and hearing operators, will live a unique experience of preparation for the moment in which they will leave their family to be placed in a first group-apartment.
On 3 September we will start again with the project of the University of Bergamo, “Route towards well-being for the frail elderly” to evaluate the effectiveness of the Nave Italia travel experience in elderly people with particular cognitive and relational fragility. It will follow on September 17th “Sea of Paper (the song of the sirens)” the artistic project, promoted by the Istituto Superiore Antonio Stradivari of Cremona, which this year will have gender equality as its theme and will be aimed exclusively at female students with special educational disorders.

The brigantine of the Tender to Nave Italia Foundation is the place where the “Nave Italia Method” reveals its strength, for its ability to place every person faced with a sudden “change of direction” in their existence. No one will be a prisoner of their own discomfort after getting on board. He will be involved in an exciting, joyful adventure, which will lead him to a life different from the previous one, outside the limits of the disease. In a few days, a team that shares values made up of hierarchy and military discipline, proximity, inclusion, valorization of each, offers a treatment of freedom. Every year, at least 300 people divided into dozens of projects, in complete safety, open the doors of the prison in which their disability had locked them up. Educational and rehabilitative values shared by people who believe that every fragility can be overcome by the strength of the group, unfurling great sails that become a metaphor for new and exciting horizons”.
