BUSTO ARSIZIO – First mission… accomplished. With the victory 8-5 obtained in the late afternoon on Rowers Milanthe Water Polo Bust by Renault Paglini Store reaches its first important milestone: the mathematical certainty of competing in the promotion playoffs for Serie B.
An objective that certainly does not represent a surprise for the coaching team Andrea Crespicapable so far of making a loud statement in the championship, with 14 wins in 16 races. But the defeat suffered last weekend at the hands of rival Onda Blu Dalmine – which moved to -2 behind Bustocchi in the standings – required a prompt reaction. A reaction that was not long in coming in Saturday’s match at Manara, with Bustocchi doing well in approaching the match well (4-1 in the first set with a brace from an irrepressible Gabriel Gennariauthor of a very poker game) and then manage the advantage (2-1, 1-2, 1-1) until the final siren.
The ranking: Busto defends the lead
An answer that, a two games from the end of the regular seasonallows the leaders Bustoat the top of the altitude 42 points with a stratospheric goal difference of +113 (232 goals scored against 119 conceded), to have not only the arithmetical certainty of the playoffs (Von Varese, third in the class, is now out of the running), but also the fate of group primacy in their own hands. Arriving in first place would in fact allow Bustocchi, expected next Saturday from the treacherous away match in Varese against Arese before the manageable final at Manara with Milano 2, to face the second place in the Veneto group, enjoying the field factor in the decisive return match for the promotion to Serie B.
