Viterbo – Delivery of the medal of merit to Antonella Sberna
Viterbo – We receive and publish – Viterbo city councilor Antonella Sberna was awarded the “Time of Kindness” medal by the Italian Red Cross. The merit is intended for institutions, entrepreneurs and citizens who have committed themselves with a great spirit of sacrifice and absolute self-sacrifice during the Covid emergency. The ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Red Cross in Viterbo. Antonella Sberna was recognized as meritorious for the service carried out in her role as councilor for Social Services, Family, Youth Policies and relations with the EU of the Municipality of Viterbo at the time of the Covid-19 health emergency.
“It was an honor for me to receive this prestigious recognition which rewards my administrative commitment in the social field at a dramatic moment for our community and for the whole country – commented Sberna – moment in which, those like me who found themselves administering public affairs, tried to support people and families in the best possible way. We did not spare ourselves in those months, our commitment was maximum and we managed to provide answers to the needs of citizens, also thanks to the precious contribution of the Red Cross which allowed the municipality of Viterbo to establish a home relief service in record time delivering food and medicines to the elderly and frail, a service that continued even after the emergency.
A very important response given at the beginning of the health emergency to many people in difficulty. For this I thank the Red Cross, and in particular the Cri Committee of Viterbo with the president Marco Sbocchia and all the volunteers who, together with other voluntary associations, have made the operation of this service possible. This recognition honors me and pushes me to continue my commitment in the social field with greater passion and dedication.”
