– The Province of Cremona has published a tender for “Works to improve road surfaces, bring road signs and safety barriers up to standard and carry out routine maintenance along provincial roads”. It is a Framework Agreement for the period 2024-2027 with a single operator, to be identified with an open procedure of community relevance.
In the Specific, we read in the notice, the object of the contract “consists of carrying out all interventions to improve the safety conditions of the sections of road involvedthrough multiple actions which concern the extraordinary and ordinary maintenance and the bringing up to date of the road platform and its appurtenances, of the horizontal signs and of the road restraint devices of the provincial roads and cycle paths”, for a description of which please refer to the project documents.
The four-year framework agreement has a total amount of 17,400,000.00 euros, compared to the resources of the Province of Cremona already available and deriving from regional and ministerial funding. The successful tenderer of the framework agreement will then be awarded individual application contracts over the four years on the basis of the executive projects which will be approved by the administration from year to year.
The deadline for submitting offers is May 30, 2024, which will be followed by the administrative activities for the awarding of the agreement. The contracts for 2024 will be for an amount equal to 4,060,000 euros.
The Province has recently approved a general plan for road maintenance needs which would provide for an investment of over 50 million euros for a complete renovation of the roads and therefore it is represented that the available resources are completely insufficient to guarantee adequate maintenance.
