“CREMONA ART WEEK” TO GET THE PAST AND PRESENT TO DIALOGUE

The goal of Cremona Art Week review is to make the art of the present dialogue with the vast historical-artistic heritage that the city preserves. The initiative, carried out with the artistic direction by Rossella Farinotti and the coordination of CFAgency, is promoted by the Department of Culture of Cremona with the collaboration of the Province of Cremona, the Chamber of Commerce of Cremona and Confcommercio of the province of Cremona. the event was supported by the Arvedi Buschini Foundation, the Community Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce, Confocommercio, Coldiretti and Fineco Private Banking.

I am the one who gave life to Cremona Contemporanea – Art Week 2024 19 important contemporary artists active on the international scene, different in generation and approach, selected by the curator for the impact of their works and for adherence to the history and themes of the Cremonese places in which they will be welcomed: Thomas Berra, Federico Cantale, Victoria Colmegna, Lucia Cristiani, Luca De Angelis, Luca De Leva, Jeremy Deller, Roberto Fassone, Claire Fontaine, Francesco Gennari, Judith Hopf, Michele Lombardelli, Nevine Mahmoud, Jonas Mekas, Daniele Milvio, Ornaghi&Prestinari, Emma Talbot, Patrick Tuttofuoco, Zoe Williams.

MANY INITIATIVES PLANNED

From site-specific installations to large-format paintings, from sculpture to video art, up to ceramics and textile productions. The works – some of which were produced specifically for the occasion – accompany the public along an exhibition itinerary to discover places in the city which in many cases are not usually accessible to the public, but which thanks to Cremona Contemporanea | Art Week are “exhibited” together with the works of the contemporary artists called to activate them.

Another important novelty of Cremona Contemporanea – Art Week 2024 concerns theinteraction and participation increasingly active in the entire city, through the development of “Faville projects” created with important Italian and international cultural realities with the aim of enriching and expanding the exhibition itinerary of the event.

Among these: the collective exhibition No Future, which recounts the latest experiments of very young artists, with a selection by Ettore Favini and Triangolo, in the historic setting of Palazzo Guazzoni Zaccaria; the review of author documentaries Five Masters, created in collaboration with the Audiovisiva platform and the Filodrammatici theatre; the collective exhibition Eternal Feminine, created in collaboration with Longari Arte Milano and Cantore Galleria Antiquaria at Palazzo Vidoni; the exposure Andrzej Steinbach: Figure I, organized in collaboration with Galerie Conradi (Hamburg) at Residenza Torriani; the exhibition Far Brillare la Polvere² by SC_NC (Stefano Comensoli and Nicolò Colciago) for Progetto Ludovico; the cycle of meetings and intimate stories about painting Bar Cremona with Thomas Braida, Andrea Magnani, Marta Ravasi; the exhibition project Will Of Roberto Amoroso focused on climate change and the apocalyptic chatter of the media; the sound performance Arethusa Of Luciana Elizondo and Fabio Gionfrida which will liven up Palazzo Fodri every day of the Art Week at 6.00 pm.
