On 8 and 9 June 2024 the European elections will take place to elect the members of the European Union Parliament belonging to Italy, and in Sicily there will also be electoral consultations for the elections of the Mayors and Councils of 37 Municipalities, for the renewal of elective positions.

During the voting operations, which will take place Saturday 08 JUNE 2024 from 3.00 pm to 11.00 pm And Sunday 09 JUNE 2024 from 07.00 to 23.00, (DL 29 January 2024 No. 7 converted with amendments into L. 25 March 2024, no. 38) will be published four surveys on voter turnout. Voter turnout data will be released at the following times:

– Saturday 08 JUNE 2024 at 11.30 pm;

The provisional data, transmitted by the 55 polling stations, will be published in real time on the municipal website by the municipal press office.

WHO CAN VOTE

To elect the members of the European Parliament belonging to Italy, the Mayor and the Municipal Council, all adult Italian citizens, as of 08 June 2024, registered in the electoral lists of the Municipality of Bagheria, vote.

The members of the European Parliament belonging to Italy, and/or the Mayor and the Municipal Council, can also be elected by EU citizens of another Member State who are adults on 8 June 2024, and who are registered in the lists added for the European Parliament and for the Municipalities of the Municipality of Bagheria.

HOW TO VOTE FOR THE EUROPEANS

The voter expresses his vote by tracing a mark on the mark of the chosen list. The voter can also express up to three preferences by writing the name and surname or just the surname of the candidate or candidates next to the voted list.

ATTENTION: If more than one preference is expressed, candidates of different sex must be indicated, for example:
– 2 preferences: a man and a woman, or vice versa,
– 3 preferences: two women and one man, or vice versa.
In case of failure to respect the “gender preferences”, the preferences subsequent to the first will be cancelled.

HOW TO VOTE FOR ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES: MAYOR AND MUNICIPAL COUNCIL

The voter expresses his vote:
– drawing a mark only on the name of the candidate for Mayor, in this case the vote is valid only for the candidate for Mayor;
– by drawing a mark on a list, in this case the vote is valid for the chosen list and for the Mayoral candidate connected to it;
– the voter can also express up to a maximum of two preferences, writing the name and surname, or just the surname of the candidate or candidates for municipal councillor, alongside the chosen list, to which the candidates voted for must belong. If the voter expresses two preferences, it is necessary that they are candidates of different sexes and belonging to the same list (one female and one male), otherwise the second preference will be canceled during the ballot.
– the voter can vote for a candidate for Mayor, by drawing a mark on his name, and for a list not connected to him, by drawing a mark on that list too (this type of vote is defined as “disjoint voting”).

Please remember that the vote expressed for a list extends to the mayoral candidate connected to it, and not vice versa.

WHAT YOU NEED TO VOTE

To be able to exercise the right to vote LThe voter must present himself at the section in which he is registered (the section is indicated on the electoral card) with a valid electoral card, identity card or identification document.

In this regard, voters are invited to: check now that you are in possession of your voter card and that it still contains spaces available for stamping. If the voter has lost the electoral card or the spaces for certifying the vote are exhausted, it is possible to request, from May 2, 2024even by proxy, the issue of a new card.

From 6 May 2024 the electoral office for issuing electoral cards will be open every day from 9.00 to 13.00 and from 15.00 to 18.00, while on 6 and 7 June 2024 the offices they will remain open from 9.00 to 19.00. On Saturday 08 June 2024 the opening hours will be from 9.00 to 23.00 and on Sunday 9 June 2024 from 7.00 to 23.00.

WHERE YOU VOTE

The voter votes in his own municipality of residence, in whose electoral lists he is registered, in the electoral section shown on the Electoral Card in the box at the bottom right.
