Trenitalia announced that, due to extraordinary maintenance works and upgrading of the railway network, from 4 July to 2 September trains on the historic line will be suspended between Naples San Giovanni-Barra And Torre Annunziata Centrale-Castellamare di Stabia. Traffic has been rescheduled with alternative routes. Cancellations, limitations and route diversions are expected for some high-speed, intercity, regional and metropolitan trains from 28 to 30 August also between Torre Annunziata Centrale and Nocera Inferiore. A bus service from Naples will be set up. From the Afragola high speed station instead, they will leave FrecciaLink direct to Pompeii and Sorrento.
The suspension for summer 2024
Changes to the train circulation schedule on the historic line Naples – Salerno (via Torre Annunziata Centrale) are determined by the need to carry out extraordinary maintenance and infrastructure upgrading works. Railway traffic will be suspended from 4 July to 2 September between the stations of Naples San Giovanni-Barra and Torre Annunziata Centrale/Castellamare di Stabia and in the periods from 4 to 6 July and from 28 to 30 August also between the stations of Torre Annunziata Centrale and Nocera Inferiore.
All replacement rides
Therefore, some High Speed trainsIntercity, regional and metropolitan routes of Trenitalia (Lead Company of the Passenger Hub of the FS Italiane Group) will undergo route deviations, limitations and/or cancellations.
There is no power, Line 1 of the Naples metro stops on the entire route
In particular:
- some AV and Intercity trains will be limited to Napoli Centrale;
- the connection to Pompeii, for those who travel on board Frecciarossa, will be guaranteed with a FrecciaLink which leaves from Naples Afragola station and is directed to both Pompeii and Sorrento.
- Some regional and metropolitan trains will be diverted onto alternative or limited routes in the stations of Napoli San Giovanni-Barra, Torre Annunziata Centrale, Nocera Inferiore.
- Bus service is available on the interrupted routes.
The seats available on the buses in circulation, which will increase their travel times also in relation to road traffic, may be lower than the normal service offered. It is therefore advisable to consider replanning your trip.
