Don’t call it an exhibition or an event: for Franco Mazza, entrepreneur, publisher, director with half a century of experience, the idea is different. The Photography Festival scheduled for about two months in the center of Catanzaro it aims to be a sort of cultural re-foundation to reflect and form consciences to which the capital municipality has given free patronage.
There will be first three major exhibitions taken by renowned photographers such as Pino Bertelli, Francesco Malavolta, Nino Bartuccio which are based on the photography of humanity, that is, attention towards the disadvantaged, towards the problems of the Earth, towards all those who unfortunately are one step lower for society.
A whirlwind of initiatives scheduled in the “Coriolano Paparazzo” gallery in which they will take place continuously books, music and cinema, but above all photographswith daily opening hours 9.30-13.00 and 16.30-20.00.
«It will be a sort of incubator gallery to develop and enhance human values, a continuous open day for young and old especially those short of notions, but eager to get closer to the photos taken with the soul. It is not just an initiative of visibility, but of continuous training Mazza, owner of CineSud, the historic photographic emporium of the capital which moved to the Soverato coast. So all the major global photography brands will be here with their ambassador to do free workshops for the necessary training so that photography can be useful. The photograph must say something – Mazza comments – and possibly say it against someone.”
