Once the storm has passed, reactions from the political world are unleashed, asking the institutions for answers and solutions, while a new burst of bad weather is expected today. Parties and committees of flood victims take a stand after the new damage suffered by the territory.
Faenza flood victims’ committees: “Prevention and protection measures must evolve”
Following the meteorological events of the last few hours which have heavily affected some municipalities in the Romagna Faentina and Lower Romagna, the Faenza flood victims’ committees intend to express: “Solidarity and closeness to the populations once again affected by the consequences of events which are taking on increasingly worrying recursive characteristics , concern for the evident ineffectiveness of the technical and procedural measures taken for the prevention of said events, anxiety for the lack of information about the existing programs and the applicable and planned technical solutions for improving the levels of protection of the population with respect to such situations , firm request for re-evaluation of the risk of individual communities and for communication to the population of the most appropriate measures to be taken for the protection of property and individual safety”.
The Committees of the Faenza flood victims also underline how “these events dramatically recall what happened in May 2023 and that, where environmental conditions evolve, the criteria and measures for individual and collective prevention and protection put in place to protect the populations must equally evolve”. Finally, the Committees express their concern for “the ability of the territorial sewerage and water system to respond effectively to recurring meteorological events”.
Rifondazione Comunista: “Hera does not carry out sewer maintenance”
