Marsala, waste and degradation in via Roma and at the children’s playground on the seafront

From Via Roma to the historic center and the children’s playground on the seafront. What do these different places in Marsala have in common? The degradation and the many abandoned waste.

As you can see from the photos sent by one of our readers, in Via Roma the fountain, in addition to not working, has become a receptacle for waste, like the flowerbeds around the trees. There are also concrete blocks, which should serve to prevent cars from accessing the area, left piled up in a single point. An unseemly situation for one of the most important streets of the city.

At the Maltese seafront playground the condition is similar, here is what our reader Peppe writes to us: “I went on Sunday morning with my wife and our child. What we found is shameful. Rubbish, plastic and beer bottles and then you have to be careful not to crush the excrement, not to mention the toys, many of which are not functioning and rusty. I wonder what those who should monitor the conditions of this park, whose primary users are or rather, should be children, are doing.”
