A night between art and archaeology

FRATTA POLESINE (Rovigo) – Now in its 20th edition, this year too the appointment with the European Night of Museums, an event sponsored by UNESCO, the Council of Europe and Icom, which since 2005 has simultaneously involved all the museums of Europe with the aim of promoting knowledge of European cultural heritage and identity. The evening opening of the museums takes place on the Saturday evening closest to International Museum Day, to which it is also linked from a conceptual point of view but constituting a different cultural experience in the ways in which the collections are used, made more convivial and playful through events , shows and cultural promotion initiatives organized with the contribution of all the arts (theatre, music, dance, literature, cinema, etc….)

On the occasion of this important initiative, Aqua Srl, with the Ministry of Culture – Regional Museums Directorate of Veneto and the Province of Rovigo, proposes for the evening of Saturday 18 May 2024 the extraordinary opening of Villa Badoer from 9.00 pm to 10.30 pm and a guided tour in collaboration with the National Archaeological Museum of Fratta Polesine, which for the occasion will observe continuous opening hours until 10.30pm.

Man has always questioned what surrounds him with his gaze, seeking explanations for the natural phenomena around him: in particular the stars exert an enormous fascination on him, so much so that they are given proper names and are linked to mythological stories and tales. . Myth and stars constitute an inseparable pair and, through the arts, the protagonists of these fantastic stories take shape, materializing in objects with zoomorphic or anthropomorphic shapes, signs and symbols of primordial workmanship, wall decorations, mythological subjects.

The Director of the National Archaeological Museum and the operator Aqua will alternate in telling the relationship between man, the stars and myth through the most significant and representative finds, divinities and decorations of the National Archaeological Museum of Fratta Polesine and the halls of Villa Badoer.
