The Chinese Room is now about to launch its own Still Wakes the Deep and chose the PC Gaming Show 2024 to showcase the launch trailer of the horror adventure in question, which proves more disturbing than ever in this video.

The team is known for its narrative adventures focused on exploration and meditative experiences like Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture and Dear Esther, but they also had the opportunity to focus on horror with Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, so here it comes new challenge with considerable baggage behind it.

In this case, the anxiety is particularly profound thanks also to the setting which takes us to a remote oil platform where a metaphysical horror seems to have emerged.

An unspeakable horror in the middle of the ocean

The launch trailer for Still Wakes the Deep immediately immerses us in the dark climate that characterizes the game, as we can see below.

Set in 1975 on a platform off the coast of Scotlandthe game places us in front of a sort of cosmic horror that has somehow emerged from the depths of the sea.

As happens in Amnesia, here too we are disarmed in the face of the threat constant, which requires us to try to escape from it and act in such a way as to protect ourselves without being able to counterattack, which increases the sense of restlessness given by a challenge that seems highly unequal.

Still Wakes the Deep will be available from June 18, 2024 on PC and console and will be available at launch directly in the Game Pass.
