Interviewed by the director of TMW Niccolò Ceccarini, shortly before the second leg of the Serie C playoff final between Carrarese and Vicenza, Giovanni Bia, Andrea Cambiaso’s agent, also spoke about the renewal of the Juventus player’s contract: His words:
Carrarese-Vicenza?
“This is a match open to all results. A very important prospect like Zanon plays in the Carrarese. As one of my clients, I have had the opportunity to follow them in depth this year and it is certainly a team with excellent capabilities. Mister Calabro has did an excellent job, continuing the good work done by Dal Canto.”
On the opposite front there is Mr. Vecchi’s Vicenza.
“Vecchi has obtained 23 consecutive useful results, let’s say that both coaches have fixed the shortcomings of the two previous coaches. I expect a very good, balanced match between two teams that play football. We also saw it in the first leg. Let’s hope Let there be a good show this afternoon.”
Let’s move on to Cambiaso’s renewal: can you tell us some background on the negotiation?
“We found an agreement immediately. After all, when intelligent people put the common interest at the forefront over personal interest, problems are resolved quickly. We didn’t look at the money, but at the project. Juve is happy to keep Andrea and Andrea is happy to stay for two days.”
Were there other teams on Cambiaso?
“There were important, first-tier teams that won the Champions League. But in my opinion, Juventus in a few years will return to being the Juventus we know. Finally with Andrea we can give continuity, there was no reason to change the team this season year”.
Cambiaso will meet coach Thiago Motta again in Turin.
“I think so, Andrea knows him very well. Luckily we made the right choice last year, when Andrea had to go and play and perhaps he wasn’t yet ready to live an experience like Juve.”
