DUEVILLE (VI) – A fire almost turned into a tragedy late Sunday evening, when a round baler caught fire in the fields adjacent to Via Giotto, in the Dueville area. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The fire and the rapid intervention
The agricultural machinery, used for harvesting hay, was engulfed in flames around 6:00 p.m. The fire, which quickly began to spread to the surrounding fields, required the immediate intervention of the fire brigade. A team from the Vicenza power station promptly arrived on the scene, averting the risk that the fire could spread further.
Preventive measures save the neighborhood
The prompt measures adopted by the rescuers prevented the flames from reaching a nearby house and an LPG tank, located not far from the epicenter of the fire. This avoided major damage and possible new outbreaks, ensuring the safety of people and structures in the immediate vicinity.
Conclusion of the operation
After about three hours of incessant work, the firefighters declared the area safe, completing the extinguishing operations.
