With the electoral campaign for the administrative offices in Mazara del Vallo coming to life, and we believe that the climate could heat up in the next few days, some issues could become the subject of confrontation between the three candidates for mayor who have already presented the relevant programs electoral-administrative. A theme that has gradually resurfaced in this electoral campaign is that of the third bridge over the Mazaro river which would connect Piazzale GB Quinci and the Fatamorgana seafront.
Precisely in relation to the project for a third bridge over the Mazaro river, which connects the Mazzini seafront to the Fatamorgana seafront, also with the possibility of disposing of city traffic, and which had often been discussed in the city in recent years. The construction of the third bridge over the Mazaro river could primarily bring benefits to the city’s traffic system, also in terms of environmental sustainability; on weekends the residents of Trasmazaro and Tonnarella could leave the car at home, or in the area in front of the new port (where there is a large car park), cross the bridge and already find themselves in the city center (on the cover photo taken by us by Piazzale Quinci at the closest point between the two banks of the Mazaro river). Obviously the third bridge would allow the cycle path to pass between the two banks of the Mazaro river.
The work, for which there is already a project drawn up a few years ago by municipal technicians, would certainly and concretely project the city of Mazara del Vallo into the third millennium. With the construction of the bridge between Piazzale GB Quinci and the Fatamorgana seafront, the ancient statue of San Vito, patron saint of the city and protector of fishermen, which stands on the canal port but which was hidden for many years, could also be made safe and enhanced. , dangerously, by boats pulled ashore.
