Returning to the awards showered for 2024, region by region, Emilia-Romagna confirms a large haul of Blue Flags: in fact, the beaches in the municipalities of Comacchio (Ferrara), Ravenna and Cervia (Ravenna), San Mauro Pascoli And Cesenatico (Forlì-Cesena), Gatteo Mare And Riccione, Bellaria-Igea Marina, Misano Adriatico (Rimini).

The four coastal provinces of the region each celebrate at least one lido admitted to the list of the ‘bluest’ in Italy.

An excellent omen for the start of a season considered by tourist operators to be very promising, but often threatened, especially during the recent ‘long weekends’ of April 25th and May 1st, by the tantrums of the weather.

The Blue Flags 2023: how it went last year

In more detail, here are the awarded beaches province by province in Emilia-Romagna:

Comacchio (Ferrara)

In the Ferrara area, in the municipality of Comacchio: Lido Spina, Lido di Volano, Lido delle Nazioni, Lido degli Scacchi, Pomposa, Garibaldi, Lido degli Estensi.

Ravenna and Cervia (Ravenna)

In the Ravenna area: in the municipality of Ravenna, Marina Romea, Porto Corsini, Marina di Ravenna, Punta Marina Terme, Lido Adriano, Lido di Savio, Lido di Dante, Lido di Classe and Casal Borsetti. In the municipality of Cervia, Milano Marittima, Cervia, Pinarella and Tagliata.

San Mauro and Cesenatico (Forlì-Cesena)

In the province of Forlì Cesena, in the municipalities of San Mauro, Gatteo and Cesenatico, blue flag for Cesenatico-Litorale; Gatteo Mare-San Mauro Mare.

Rimini

In the province of Rimini, the beaches of Bellaria Igea Marina -Igea Marina. Riccione – Coast. Misano Adriatico – North Sea Park, Misano Center, Porto Verde, Brazil.

To obtain the award of the Blue Flag it is necessary to comply with numerous criteriadeveloped by Foundation for Environmental Education (Fee). In order to access the preliminary assessments, the classification ofexcellent waters‘ and carrying out regular sampling during the summer months.

Between 32 requirements to be satisfied to obtain recognition, the quality of water and services stand out, together with land management, purification plants, waste management, liveability in summervalorisation of naturalistic areas, environmental education initiatives, information and awareness-raising on respect for beaches and, more generally, for our marine ecosystems.
