Fourth blue flag for the city of Pescara. On the morning of May 14, Mayor Carlo Masci went to Rome to participate in the award ceremony by the president of the Fee Italia (Foundation for Environmental Education) Claudio Mazza, to the 236 coastal locations that received the recognition.

«We have also obtained the Blue Flag for 2024. If we go back five years, we cannot help but remember that our sea was unusable, polluted, with a bathing ban that affected a large part of our city. Today, however, our sea is clear and clean, with the excellent water classification assigned to over 80% of the areas subjected to control. I am enormously satisfied with this extraordinary objective achieved, which confirms our good work on the topic of environmental sustainability”, says the mayor.

On Wednesday 15 May, at 11.30, at the Lido Beach in Pescara, Masci will hold a press conference on the topic, without neglecting tourism and the development of the river.

Blue flag also for Ortona (Chieti), new for 2024. This brings the number of places in Abruzzo awarded the Blue Flag for this year to 15.

The other locations reconfirmed in the province of Chieti are Francavilla al Mare, Fossacesia, Vasto and San Salvo together with the municipalities of Martinsicuro, Alba Adriatica, Tortoreto, Giulianova, Roseto degli Abruzzi, Pineto and Silvi. For the lakes, however, the recognition goes to Villalago and Scanno, in the province of L’Aquila.
