“A stronger, more cohesive and competitive Europe to face the challenges of the future”. This is the title of the document that the Cna Sicilia sent to the candidates in the elections for the renewal of the European Parliament of the Islands constituency on 9 June.

The document, born following a survey on European issues and conducted on a sample of 1600 companies, was prepared by the national Cna and is divided into 10 points, on each of which various proposals have been formulated: guiding the green transformation and energy sustainability; fairness and competitiveness: completing the single market; a renewed European industrial policy; accompany businesses in the era of digital transition; global integration: the role of the EU in relations with third countries; building the future: territories, networks and infrastructures; the evolution of work: strengthening the European social model; investments suited to a new economic model; legislation: towards a careful approach to micro SMEs; dialogue between institutions, associations and governments.

“Businesses – declares Piero Giglione, secretary of the Cna Sicilia – need a Europe that listens to, protects and enhances the artisan entrepreneurial fabric, made up mainly of small and medium-sized businesses, which represents an important asset not only productive but also social and cultural. They are companies that carry on the history and traditions of the professions of our territories, capable of innovating and producing high quality goods and excellent services. For this reason we believe it is necessary to promote continuous dialogue with our representatives in Europe”.
