VARESE – All ready for the VII edition of the Gianni Asti National Tournament reserved for the under 14 category (2010-2011). The event, organized by Varese Basketball (the joint project created by Pallacanestro Varese and Robur et Fides) and followed by the instructor Andrea Maiwill start on Thursday 30 May and will be held between Campus And the Robur center of via Marzorati.
The teams at the start
They will be 12 teams are at the startdivided into 4 groups of 3 teams each: the hosts Varese Basketball, APU Udine, Desio, Gallarate, Lussano Bergamo, Cernusco, Trento, Urania Milano, Progetto Ma.Go, ABA, Prato Dragons and Cantù. About 150 young athletesmany of which are prospects of national interest, will remember the maestro Gianni Asti, unforgettable “father” of Robur et Fides, technician and educator who marked the history of the sports club. The finals are scheduled for Sunday 2 June, with 3-point shooting competitions within each match. The organization will assign individual prizes at the end of the tournament (mvp, best scorer, best coach, fair play award and best quintet). Many coaches with international youth CVs will arrive in Varese to watch the young talents.
Collaboration with ItalHoop
The tastiest novelty this year will be the collaboration with ItalHoop, which will take care of the social part and will allow live coverage of the final stages on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June. So everything is ready. Who will succeed the Dolomiti Energia Academy, winner of the VI edition?
