For the 4th edition of ARCHEO MUSICA, on Saturday 15 June the extraordinary opening of the Etruscan necropolis “La Scaglia” in Civitavecchia

It is difficult to explain the magical atmosphere that can be felt in the Etruscan necropolis of “La Scaglia” in Civitavecchia, a place unknown to most people and therefore even more intriguing.
Brought to light in 2019 – after years of abandonment – by the volunteers of the Roman Archaeological Group aps section. Ulpia is exceptionally open to the public once
per year on the occasion of the EADS European Archeology Days, the third weekend of June.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The ARCHEO_MUSICA event, now in its fourth edition, offers different experiences every year. Last year it was dedicated to the Five Senses; this year it is entitled:
DANCES, WAR and takes place on Saturday 15 June 2024. The morning is all for children who from 10.30 to 12.30 – in the dedicated space inside the archaeological area – will be able to experience the emotion and ways of one archaeological excavation. It is an activity that greatly involves and excites children who have the opportunity to “get their hands dirty” and have fun in an unusual way. In the afternoon, starting from 4.30 pm until sunset, crossing the large curtain of the military camp (set up by the Nemean Lion re-enactors “Ruva Leu”), visitors – adults and children – will go back in time and identify with the Etruscan customs relating to the world of the deceased: ritual dances (Ninuphar Events), Etruscan clothes from various eras (GAR), basket weavers, foods, will accompany the guided tour of the site which hosts various types of burials, some very ancient, including two small princely mounds.

Some students of the “Galileo Galilei” musical high school, along the route, will perform traditional European musical pieces with ensembles of guitars, stringed instruments and clarinets.
A combination, that of ARCHEO_MUSICA, much appreciated! The event takes place under the aegis of Sabap-Vt-Em with the contribution of the CA.RI.CIV. Foundation, TODIS and the PODDA dairy. It is also supported by: Dachilù cafe, Dedalo srl, Fondazione Molinari onlus, Rosati utensils.
