“Politics has to do with animals, of course!”, recalls LAV. In the Messina meeting “cwe will understand that caring for animals does not just mean saving them and that recognizing their rights is politics because justice, immigration, safety, work, healthcare, social issues, economics, pandemics, climate change have (and a lot) to do with animals”.

It is no coincidence that “The Politics of Animals” is dedicated “to all those who are on the side of respecting the dignity and life of other animals, and do not yet know they are one”.

In the book Felicetti retraces how politics has dealt with issues concerning animals to datefrom Dudù the purebred dog in the arms of Silvio Berlusconi, to the Trentino bears condemned to death by the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento Maurizio Fugatti, to how he is preparing to face the next European elections on 9 June 2024.

And guides the reader in a trip ranging from the discovery of zoophilia in the 1950s to the anti-speciesism of the 2000s, passing through protectionism and animalism, with the implications of the largest attack on wildlife launched in recent months as well as the topic of “cultured meat”.
