Today polling stations are open from 3pm to 11pm and tomorrow from 7am to 11pm. In addition to the vote for the European elections, there is also that for the renewal of the administrative elections in many municipalities. In the Imola area there are 8, Castel San Pietro and Medicina, Dozza, Castel Guelfo and Mordano, Casalfiumanese, Borgo Tossignano and Fontanelice. Only Imola and Castel del Rio are not affected. On the contrary, let’s not forget, among the municipalities near us, that in Ozzano Emilia too people vote for local elections.

Having said that, does everyone remember how to vote for municipal elections?
In municipalities with less than 15 thousand inhabitants (Castel Guelfo and Mordano, Casalfiumanese, Borgo Tossignano, Fontanelice and Ozzano) it is possible to draw a mark on the symbol of the list or on the name of the mayor. You cannot vote for a mayoral candidate other than the one connected to the list (there is no separate vote). The candidate who received the highest number of votes is elected.
In municipalities with more than 15 thousand inhabitants (Castel San Pietro and Medicina) there are three voting possibilities: you can draw a mark on the symbol of the list, in this way the vote goes to the list and to the connected mayoral candidate; a mark can be drawn on the name of the candidate for mayor (so the vote goes only to the latter and not to the list or lists); a mark can be drawn on the symbol of a list and on an unconnected mayoral candidate (split vote). If no mayoral candidate reaches 50% plus one of the valid votes, a run-off takes place between the two with the highest number of votes.
Preferences for councilor candidates: if the municipality has fewer than 5,000 inhabitants (Castel Guelfo and Mordano, Casalfiumanese, Borgo Tossignano and Fontanelice) only one preference can be given, if it has more than 5,000 inhabitants (Castel San Pietro and Medicina, Dozza and Ozzano) there can be two preferences (in this case of different sex, under penalty of cancellation of the second). To give preference, it is necessary to write the surname or name and surname (or name indicated on the board) in the line next to the symbol of the candidate councilor list.
And finally, remember that to vote you need a valid identity document and the electoral card (if there are no more spaces for the stamp you can do it again at the electoral office of your municipality, they are always open during the hours in which the polling stations They are open).
