In the room adjacent to the one where the competition took place, some “virtuous” producers exhibited their excellence: pasta, legumes, jams, mozzarella.
“Among the objectives of the Cerignola Pizza Cup there is also the no less important one of enhancing the territory through the stories and testimonies of small businesses that must be supported and sustained“, added Cinzia Deramo.
Among the participants (and winners) of the competition, examined by a Jury selected by Peperoncino Rosso and moderated by the professionalism of Fabio Ricciothey also stood out some pizza chefs from Cerignola.
Michele Celino it won third place in the “Classic Pizza” category and first place in the “Fried Calzone” category. He also won the “Lilly Codroipo” shovel for best oven management.
The pizza chef Matteo Pestilli was awarded second place in the “Fried Calzone” category.
TO Geremia Turi third place was awarded for the “Focaccia Pugliese” category.
The competitors are also from Cerignola Marco Alessio Antonacci And Happy Mancino.
At the end of the awards ceremony, the organizers presented a certificate of gratitude and recognition to Master Pizza Chef Michele Mennunifrom Cerignola.
“He was our Master Trainer during the course we attended in 1997. This certificate expresses our gratitude for the professionalism and humanity that he showed us“, specified Barigliano, who also enthusiastically expressed his intention to get to work on a third edition of the race.
