Nine tons less CO2 released into the atmosphere: the first data relating to the “BA Be Green To Win” projectpromoted by the Mobility Department with the aim of encourage virtuous travel in the cityreducing the use of the car and therefore the emission of polluting substances.
Through the app Mobility companyactive since December 20th, the home-work and home-school routes carried out in the city area on foot, by bicycle, by public transport or by carpooling are tracked and “rewarded” with points that are transformed into vouchers to spend in the city’s shops or other prizes, such as smartwatches and other technological tools, water bottles, backpacks.
As of April 30th they are 714 users registered for the service.
THE 32 prizes requested and paid.
From 20 December to 30 April the following trips were validated:
– on foot 5,613 (58%), for a total of 17,602.61 km and 2,993.04 kg of Co2 avoided
– bike/scooter 2,073 (21%), for a total of 10,670.18 km and 1,814.17 kg of Co2 avoided
– train 1,611 (16.6%), for a total of 25,764.04 km and 4,262.24 kg of Co2 avoided
– bus 192 (1.9%), for a total of 258.51 km and 142.99 kg of Co2 avoided
– cars (car pooling) 159 (1.6%), for a total of 962 km.
The total km traveled in a sustainable manner were 55,257.34; for a total of 9,212.44 kg of carbon dioxide not released into the air.
The methods of use are very simple: after downloading the Mobility company app, just enter the comunebustoarsizio code and register for the service.
You will then have to select the Activities or Carpooling section to record the trip.
Those made in the time slot from 06:00 to 10:00 and from 16:30 to 20:00 are considered valid for accumulating points, in the following ways:
• on foot or by bicycle, for a distance of at least 1000 metres;
• Local public transport or car pooling, for a distance of at least 2000 metres.
The redemption of the prizes takes place autonomously: each participant, again via the app, can browse the catalog and request their prize based on the points accumulated, while stocks last.
Each movement gives the right to a score according to the following scheme:
Walking: 2 points per km
Bicycle or equivalent: 1 point per km
Local Public Transport: 2 points each way
CarPooling Driver: 2 points each way
Passenger CarPooling: 1 point each way.
Points will be assigned only if the Mobility Company App – Activities Section or Carpooling Section – remains active throughout the entire journey.
Everything is managed with the utmost respect for privacy.
