Patience, feedback, analysis of mobile phone data have allowed the Matera State Police to close the circle on an operation last January, which had led to the seizure of narcotic substances, the arrest of two people with no criminal record and the reporting of a young man 24 years old, also with no criminal record, and today – after the measure ordered by the investigating judge at the Court of Matera – by the measure of house arrest. For the investigators and based on the investigative activity conducted, “the suspect would have become a point of reference for the sale of drugs, in particular on the occasion of private parties characterized by the consumption of alcohol and narcotics, in which several young people also participated coming from nearby Puglia”

Matera State Police: house arrest for a 24-year-old already reported for drug possession.
In compliance with the rights of the persons under investigation, the presumption of innocence and the necessary trial verification, as far as currently available, subject to further investigation and pending judgement, the following is communicated.
The State Police of Matera arrested and placed a 24-year-old man from Matera under house arrest, in execution of a precautionary order, ordered by the GIP of the Court of Matera following the supply and dealing of narcotic substances.
This is the outcome of the investigative activity carried out by the agents of the Flying Squad, after the suspect had been reported, in January, for detention for the purposes of drug dealing, having been caught in the company of two other subjects, aged 45 and 23, all with no criminal record, who on that occasion were arrested flagrantly for the same crime. The operation led to the seizure of almost 180 grams of cocaine and 5 grams of hashish, mostly found at
the inside of an industrial warehouse owned by one of the two previously arrested subjects.
The analysis of the mobile phones seized from the suspects made it possible to acquire circumstantial elements regarding the subject receiving the precautionary measure, who is believed to have actively participated in the supply of narcotic substances, specifically cocaine and hashish, in the preparation of the doses and in the sorting of the themselves, in order to satisfy the requests coming from a large number of local hirers. According to the investigative activity, the suspect would have become a point of reference for the sale of drugs, in particular on the occasion of private parties characterized by the consumption of alcohol and narcotics, in which several young people from nearby Puglia also participated.
