Avellino elections, Laura Nargi’s list “For Avellino” rejected

Avellino

One of the four lists supporting the candidate for mayor of Avellino Laura Nargi was excluded from the electoral commission. This is the centrist formation “Per Avellino”, promoted by the former councilor C. The reason is that of the lack of the mandatory documentation attached. Among the reasons for the exclusion was that the link to the mayoral candidate was not specified in the header of the list – which is instead present in the symbol. For the former deputy mayor of the Festa council, the electoral race will therefore continue with three lists. But it cannot be ruled out that the rejected list could still appeal.

Just over 158 thousand voters were called to vote in the 205 sections overall. They range from the 53 thousand eligible voters in Avellino to the 456 voters in Torrioni. The spotlight is on Avellino as well as on the municipalities with the largest population: Montoro, Mercogliano and Montella: in the latter municipality the outgoing mayor, Rino Buonopane, is also the president of the Province. There are seven mayoral candidates of Avellino supported in total by 16 lists with around 400 councilor candidates aspiring to one of the 32 seats on the municipal council. Avellino’s competition is particularly felt after the legal events that last April 18th led to the arrest, under house arrest, of the former mayor Gianluca Festa. On the field for the center-left and the M5s, Antonio Gengaro. The centre-right coalition was divided into three sections: Brothers of Italy which nominated Modestino Iandoli; the Union of the Center with Gennaro Romei and Forza Italia which supports the Civic Pact led by the Rai journalist, Rino Genovese. So there are no longer 4 but 3 lists in the field for Laura Nargi, former vice mayor of Festa, who is herself under investigation, who is running for leadership of the capital to claim the positive balance of the outgoing administration. The other mayoral candidates are Aldo D’Andrea for Unione Popolare, the movement that refers to the former mayor of Naples, Luigi de Magistris, and Vittorio Bocciero of Progetto Avellino Futura.
