Tomorrow, Tuesday 14 May, the May Childhood Procession will parade from Piazza Massari in Bari, the eagerly awaited event of the Theater Festival for the new generations of the same name, now in its 27th edition. The protagonists, as always, will be students from schools in the area, who will wear the nature-themed artistic creations created during the workshops scheduled in the institutes from March. The young people of the Don Lorenzo Milani comprehensive institute, of the via Trentino nursery school, of the via Lanave nursery school, of the De Fano nursery school, the Carmine school and the Margherita institute in Bari, as well as the ‘Il Mondo di Peter Pan’ school in Corato and the ‘De Gasperi – Pende’ comprehensive institute in Noicattaro.
A cheerful party that unites adults and children, accompanied by the music and entertainment of Bembè musical and performing arts, directed by maestro Tommaso Scarimbolo. The children supported by Raggi di sole onlus, a Corato association that deals with people with special needs, also participate in the free access event, which sees the patronage and support of the Regional Guarantor for the rights of people with disabilities. The Festival is organized by the SAT Spettacolo Arte Territorio Foundation, with the artistic direction of Teresa Ludovico, the project curated by Cecilia Cangelli and the pedagogical consultancy of Giorgio Testa. With the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Puglia Region, the Municipalities of Bari, Martina Franca, Molfetta, Monopoli and Ruvo di Puglia, and the Bari Chamber of Commerce, Teatro Pubblico Pugliese, Korean Cultural Institute in Italy and Kofice (Korean Foundation for international cultural exchange). With the patronage and support of the Guarantor of the Rights of the Minor and the Guarantor of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities of the Puglia Region.
In collaboration with the Le Nuvole children’s innovation stable theater of Naples and with Casa dello Spectatore of Rome, Casa del Contemporaneo, TRIC Teatri of Bari, Cooperativa Kismet, Assitej Italia (International Association of Theater for Children and Young People), TRAC network of Apulian theater residencies, ARPA Puglia, ‘Nino Rota’ Conservatory of Music of Monopoli, Pro loco of Martina Franca. The festival is part of the Italiafestival and EFA European Festivals Association network (as part of the Effe Label project).
