Ten precautionary measures for individuals suspected of having caused some minor girls to prostitute themselves in luxury facilities in the provinces of Bari and Bat with the promise of easy earnings. It was a mother’s complaint that triggered the investigation by the Bari Flying Squad officers which resulted in the enforcement of restrictive measures today. The measures issued by the investigating judge of the Bari court at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office were carried out in the regional capital, but also in Trani, Lecce and Rome. Four women, aged 35, 21, 25 and 24 respectively, a 29-year-old and a 25-year-old from Bari were arrested and taken to prison, accused of “having induced, facilitated, exploited, managed and organized the prostitution of three minor girls, deriving a huge profit from the sexual services offered, for a fee, to a plurality of customers”.

Customers

Two clients, aged 47 and 42, who, aware that the girls were underage, according to the investigators, did not hesitate to have sexual relations with them in exchange for money, were placed under house arrest. For a third customer, 55 years old, and for a 45 year old from Bari, manager of an accommodation facility in which «tolerated» – underlines a note from the Police Headquarters – the habitual exercise of prostitution, there is the obligation to reside in the municipality of residence.

The complaint

The investigations were started by the Bari Flying Squad in March 2022, following the complaint presented by the mother of a 16-year-old, who noticed anomalous behavior in her daughter and found her frequenting an adult, alleged escort, resident in the Marche region. Starting from October 2021, the girls involved, 16 years old at the time, were allegedly lured and introduced into the world of prostitution with the promise of easy money. Some customers would have paid hundreds of euros for single sexual services within the accommodation facilities.
