With drugs in the house, he ends up under house arrest. This is what happened last night in the Messina Gazzi district when the carabinieri of the local station, on charges of possession for the purpose of dealing drugs, arrested a 44-year-old local man, already known to the police force also for specific precedents.
The military personnel, engaged in a territorial control service, noticed an unusual coming and going of people in the vicinity of the suspect’s home, some of whom were recognized as drug users. Suspicion of an alleged drug dealing activity led the police to raid the suspect’s apartment to carry out a search.
In the house the soldiers found and seized 25 grams of marijuana and approximately 17 of hashish, as well as a precision scale, soaked in drug residue and the sum of 160 euros, believed to be the proceeds of the illicit activity. The marijuana, contained in a glass jar, was hidden in a kitchen cabinet, among other food packages. The hashish, however, was found in the bedroom wardrobe, among the linen.
At the end of the operations the man was taken to the barracks where the police formalized his arrest. The seized drugs were sent to the Messina RIS carabinieri for the relevant laboratory analyses. The arrested person is now under house arrest at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
