Yet another fatal accident on the roads of Trentino in the space of just three days they recorded four victims. Thursday on 17 year old cyclist, Matteo Lorenzidied after colliding with the van that cut him off in Civezzano. On Friday, however, two motorcyclists lost their lives: Federico Volani, 31 year old volunteer firefighter, crashed into a truck; While the 71 year old from Belluno, Arrigo Zanella, was hit by a roe deer along the road to Passo Vezzena. Yesterday it was the turn of Marco Felloni, 67 year old librarian resident in Abano Termand (in the province of Padua).
The group trip and the crush
Felloni was riding his Yamaha while together with a groupA group of friends, made up of about ten motorcyclists, was traveling along the road state road 79 which leads to Passo Brocon. Arriving at a semi-bend, shortly after the ski lifts, the 67-year-old he lost control of his motorcycle ending up crashing against the guardrail and falling a few meters down an embankment. The accident occurred in the municipal area of Castello Tesino, with the group proceeding towards Canal San Bovo. The first to raise the alarm, shortly after midday, were the friends who were with him. The firefighters of Castello and Cinte Tesino intervened on site, as well as an ambulance. Given the seriousness of the situation from Trento the air ambulance took off with the emergency medical team. However, despite attempts to resuscitate him, there was nothing Felloni could do: the 67-year-old died at the scene due to injuries sustained in the accident. The investigations were entrusted to the carabinieri of the Borgo Valsugana company, while the Yamaha driven by Felloni was seized. It is not excluded that the Trento Public Prosecutor’s Office will order technical investigations on the vehicle.
Weddings in the Covid era
The 67-year-old librarian at the University of Padua, leaves behind a young son and his wife Isabella Polloni. The two were married on April 7, 2020, in full Covid emergency, when Felloni was hospitalized in the cardiac surgery department of the Padua hospital. Exceptionally, the municipal administration of the same city had granted permission for the marriage since Felloni, after suffering a heart attack, had to undergo emergency surgery for a heart transplant. The operation had been successful, so the love story between Marco and Isabella continued even stronger than before. Yesterday, however, the 67-year-old’s life suddenly ended due to a tragic accident.
