Strengthen cooperation between the Region and Municipalities to promote the economic, productive and social development of Sicily, from a sustainability perspective, through the use of community funds and cooperation with the countries of the Mediterranean basin. It is the purpose of memorandum of understanding signed today in Palermo between the extra-regional affairs department of the Presidency of the Sicilian region (Dae) and theAnci Sicilythe association of Municipalities, sui European funds for the development.
The agreement will be valid for three years and provides for the launch of information and training actions for the creation of international partnerships based on Programs managed by the European Union.

Participation in meetings with the countries of theEuro-Mediterranean area for the promotion of models sustainable economic development and good practices through forms of international cooperation.
Through the memorandum of understanding, the Dae intends to make available to the Municipalities the wealth of experience gained in its coordination activity of the Conference of Peripheral and Maritime Regions of Europe, of the Permanent Partnership Committee of Local and Regional Authorities (Coppem) and in the implementation of the Strategy of Adriatic-Ionian macroregion.
