PORDENONE – Thanks Sinner. Yes, because the young Italian tennis player who reached second place in the ATP rankings also spread the seeds for all the tennis clubs in the province of Pordenone. It is no coincidence that one of the most important, the Pordenone tennis club, a historic citizens’ association, thanks to Sinner (but also to the two new padel courts) has seen increase the number of members from 320 to 565 in just over a year, in number of current members. It’s not a little. But mostly young people approached who perhaps had the impetus from Sinner to choose a racket and try.

Tennis club, Sinner influence

But this year the Pordenone Tennis club is also focusing a lot on the green spots, or rather, the summer centers which will interest children from six years old to fourteen year olds. In practice, from June 10th, the opening date of the summer center, to July 5th, the day on which the month will close, children and teenagers will be able to try a sporting experience, but not only that, because in the summer center of the Pordenone tennis club, there will be no games only with the racket, but you will also do many other activities.

The summer centers

President Andrea Lugo directly explains the initiative which has been one of the flagships of the association for some time now, but will be further strengthened this year. «In the meantime – he explains immediately – I want to say that here there is maximum safety for children because they are constantly supervised by adults, not by other children. This is a rule that I wanted. And then the tennis club is closed and no one except authorized people can enter, there are no cars and therefore there is maximum security.” But the president is also keen to explain something else that is emblematic of the summer centre. «Here we do healthy sports, but not just tennis, we also do other activities in order to make the children’s stay as peaceful as possible. The reception is scheduled for 7.45am if parents need to go to work early, there will already be a reception person here. The activity will begin at 8.30 and will continue until 10. The children will be divided into groups, in order to have different opportunities. At 10.30 there will be a snack, fruit or yoghurt, and then other activities until 12. At 12.30 parents or relatives can come and pick them up.”

Costs

«We have also been low on the cost front, we are moving forward to give everyone the opportunity to participate and if there is the will also to learn to play tennis. A week is 90 euros, but we are also available to welcome children and teenagers for just a day or two, if parents need to find a site. In this case the cost is 30 euros per day.” The fact remains that in addition to joining one of the most important clubs in the province, children will undoubtedly be able to have fun and perhaps even become passionate about one of the most beautiful sports. To register children it is necessary to fill out a form.

This is certainly a positive year for the Pordenone Tennis club, also in terms of results. The Serie C team, in fact, is having a great championship and will almost certainly be able to participate in the play offs. He is currently in second place in the rankings. The magnificent seven who are carrying out victory after victory are Filippo Negro, Filippo Bigi, Thomas Zych, Giampaolo Gabelli, Enrico Peressin, Fabio Michelin and Samuele Barbera.
