In Agrigento, in Piazza Marconi, a 30-year-old from Agrigento was struck by a sudden illness while he was driving his Opel Tigra and ended up off the road. The vehicle hit the pavement out of control and knocked down a road sign pole. Just a few meters would have been enough and the car would have ended up on the steps of nearby Via Terone. Some passers-by reported the accident to 112. The young driver was taken to the “San Giovanni di Dio” hospital with a 118 ambulance. His life is not in danger. The firefighters of the Provincial Command also rushed to the scene and the officers of the Flying Section to investigate the case.
Another road accident with 4 injuries occurred on Viale Cannatello, on the outskirts of Agrigento. Two cars collided head-on: a Jeep Renegade and a Fiat Cinquecento. All four occupants of the two vehicles were transported by ambulance to the emergency room of the “San Giovanni di Dio” hospital. Three of the four people involved suffered minor trauma, while a fourth received some stitches. Municipal police officers intervened on site for traffic and investigations.
