Gun shots a Hagen, Germany: a 34-year-old man “shot his pregnant partner in an apartment, then drove to a hairdresser a couple of kilometers away where he injured 3 other people.” The creator of the gestureidentified as Mehmet O., of Turkish nationality, is on the run and is armed. This is reported by Bild citing the police. None of the injured “is in danger of life”, he underlines.
According to the current state of the investigation, the Turkish citizen is suspected of having seriously injured his wife by gunshots around 11 in the morning in the shared apartment in an apartment building on Hochstrasse. After shooting, he entered the stairwell of the house and shot several times at the door of an apartment on the upper floor. No one was injured in that apartment. The 34-year-old then left the house and drove to a hairdresser in Eilper Strasse. There the suspect shot and wounded three other people. A person’s life is in danger, as the Hagen police announced this afternoon.
The man is still at large, according to a joint statement from the police and the prosecutor’s office. The Dortmund police, who took over from the Hagen police in managing the operation, suspect that a family conflict was behind the bloody clash. A spokesperson interviewed by the editorial team confirmed this. «We are intensively searching for the perpetrator. Please avoid the central areas of Hagen, the Hochstrasse in Eilpe and the Breckerfeld area,” the police said. A description of the suspect is not yet available.
Crime scene photos published by local media show a barrier – erected by police officers – around the hairdressing salon. There are ambulances on site.
Hagen has around 180 thousand inhabitants and is located in western Germany, a about 30 km from Dortmund. Eilpe is a southern suburb of the city.
