At the library Mondadori in viale Carducci, 27 in Cesena it is possible to find two volumes dedicated to the flood. One is “Souls in the mud. The flood in Romagna. True stories from the Apocalypse. Not to forget” by Luca Giacomoni, published by SunShine, 294 pages (20 euros).
Then there is the photographic book “In the mud. The flood of 2023. I burdel int è paciug” with photos by Gianmaria Zanotti, presentation by Enzo Lattuca and texts by Roberto Casalini, Paolo Turroni, Elisa Venturi. Publisher Il Ponte Vecchio, 153 pages (13 euros).
“The book – he explains Gianmaria Zanottiphotographer of Corriere Romagna – was born because between me and Marzio Casalinipublisher of Old Bridge, there is a relationship of friendship and collaboration. Marzio lost everything, computers, books and warehouses, with 90 percent damage. But the way he is, instead of feeling sorry for himself, he wanted to make a book with the photos taken by me on May 17th and 18th. In less than a week the volume was ready and we sent it to Stilgraf who offered the printing.”
One way of start again for the publisher, Zanotti continues: “The public responded well to the publication that took place sold out. The volume was intended to be a printed documentary, a chrono-history of those terrible days. Inside you can find many of my photos and a section with people’s shots. In the latest photographs there are also smiles, a true message of hope that wanted to shine through those difficult moments.”
