Fano Baseball ’94 also made itself respected against the 1982 Lancers Lastra a Signa (FI), which despite the rather low age of its staff is proving that it can compete with any opponent in this group C of Serie B which up to now has seemed rather competitive.
On the third Sunday of the championship the boys coached by Diego Torres put together a victory and a defeat on the friendly diamond, and now with a percentage of .333 they are paired with the Titano Bears Serravalle, Baseball Arezzo and the Lancers themselves. Furthermore, the gap from the two current third-placed teams, namely Pianoro and Rimini 86, is minimal, standing at .500 having won three games and lost the same number.
In the third round the Fano team won with a score of 6-5 the match played in the morning at the “Seagulls Stadium” against the team from Lastra a Signa, who after four innings stuck at 0-0 had ended the fifth round with a 3-2 lead . In the seventh the reaction of the orange team took shape, capable of definitively overturning it with a 4-1 partial which culminated with the splendid play of Lucio Neri (born in 2005). With a formidable throw from the left field towards his catcher Jacopo Tombari (born in 2004), Neri effectively eliminated the runner who was arriving at home plate, thus preventing the guests from equalizing. Fano Baseball ’94 then rode the wave in the initial stages of the afternoon match, as demonstrated by the 3-1 in their favor at the end of the first inning. The two contenders therefore essentially canceled each other out in the next two, while in the fourth and fifth the Lancers took control of the inertia of the match and with a 2-0 and a 3-0 they reversed the situation, ultimately winning 6- 4.

However, further confirmation of the good work that coach Torres is doing with the many young prospects present in the orange roster, thanks also to the collaboration with Junior Rimini Pirati, New Rimini and Pesaro Baseball. And now on to the double challenge in Arezzo, scheduled for next Sunday 12 May.
