Viterbo – Under house arrest he is caught in the attic with cocaine and cash, a 37-year-old in trouble again.
“During the evening of last May 6th, state police personnel from the flying squad of the general prevention and public rescue office of the Viterbo police headquarters arrested a 37-year-old citizen from Viterbo for detention for the purpose of dealing in narcotic substances. , pursuant to article 73 of the decree of the president of the republic n. 309/1990 – they announced in a note from the police headquarters -. In particular, during the control of a subject restricted under house arrest, the operators heard noises from the attic of the house and worked to verify their origin.
Once inside the room, they surprised the suspect next to material suitable for taking narcotic substances. The police then decided to proceed with a personal search of the subject which gave a positive result, as two wrappers wrapped in cellophane containing 10 grams of cocaine were found in his trouser pocket, as well as 665 euros in cash of which he was unable to justify its origin.
The activity was also extended to the home of the Viterbo resident, also with a positive outcome since it allowed the discovery of a precision electronic scale and further cash for a sum of over 10,000 euros. The suspect – concludes the note – was referred to the judicial authority which proceeded to validate the arrest and the possible adoption of preventive measures against him by the police commissioner of Viterbo, Fausto Vinci, is being evaluated.” .
Presumption of innocence
In the Italian criminal system the presumption of innocence applies until the final sentence. Presumption of innocence which is based on article 27 of the Italian constitution according to which a person “is not considered guilty until finally convicted”.
