A Tiranian at the helm of CISL Pavia and Lodi

The new general secretary of the CISL of Pavia and Lodi is from Sondrio. This is Marco Contessa, 54 years old, originally from Tirano, a life in the CISL of the Valtellina capital, also in his secretariat, with particular expertise in the welfare sector.

He currently works in Milan, in the regional welfare department of the CISL, and is national manager of the CISL cross-border workers, and, on Tuesday, he is the election as general secretary of the Pavia-Lodi union. «I am grateful to the voters for having placed their trust in me – Contessa’s immediate comment – considering that out of 58 voters, 54 expressed their opinion in favor of my election. So a broad consensus, which I appreciate very much, because it is a notable demonstration of appreciation which I will try to reciprocate by guaranteeing my maximum commitment. Barbara Guardamagna and Gildo Comerci were elected to the secretariat with me, and I have already begun to establish the first relationships and meetings.”

It is a new field of action, that of Pavia-Lodi, for Contessa, who has always operated in a mountain dimension, such as that of Valtellina and Valchiavenna, and now finds herself immersed in a completely different reality «even if it is not true that Pavia is all plain, because – he says – there are also hilly and mountainous areas”. A territory that it will explore little by little, with all its peculiarities, and which sees the CISL gathering a broad consensus among residents because there are at least 42 thousand members.
