Almost 40% of the new donor members registered with Avis in the province of Pisa are under 25. This is what emerges from the latest report drawn up by Avis Regionale Toscana, in relation to the year 2023. The data was published during the 53rd assembly of the Association, held in April in Prato.

The first and most evident factor that derives from the analysis of the 5,774 members in the province of Pisa is therefore that relating to the contribution of the younger groups, who have just joined Avis. Of the 767 new donor members who were added during 2023, 426 are men and 341 women.

Looking instead at historical donor members, the most representative age group is between 46 and 55 years (with 1401 donors), followed by the 26-35 year segment (with 1247 donors).

More in detail, among male donor members the prevalent age group, between 46 and 55 years, is represented by 918 people; among women, the first place is occupied by the 26/35 year age group, with 540 donors.

In terms of donations, the contribution of donors from the Pisa area was significant, with 8,464 overall donations, which represent an increase of 2.94% compared to the previous year, well above the regional average of 0.1%. .

This is a vital generational change, since the need for blood, plasma and other blood derivatives never stops.
