L’AQUILA – Francesco Balassone elected provincial secretary of the Young Democrats.
On Saturday 4 May, at the headquarters of the democratic party of Sulmona, the provincial congress of the Young Democrats of L’Aquila. The assembly, chaired by Alina Carusisaw the outgoing report of the secretary, currently also regional treasurer of the organization, Paolo Antonelligreetings from the regional secretary Saverio Gilenoof the provincial secretary of the party Francesco Piacente and the senator Michele Finaand then listen to the report by Francesco Balassone which was followed by his unanimous election as provincial secretary.
He declares Balassone: “The slogan we gave at the congress (“Rebuilding the alternative”) explains the political project we intend to propose for the next three years, through two main objectives. The first: go to all 108 municipalities in the province to talk about public health and education, solidarity, the environment, social justice, peace, democracy and equality of opportunities. In short: bring the left to every street in the province. The second: to build a progressive provincial network, which brings together the different and numerous progressive energies that exist in the province but which until now have not managed to give themselves a single structured and organized voice. A network of which the GDs are part, without claiming to incorporate the other forces: a network of equals to fight for the common good. Here is our ambitious project to reconstruct the alternative to this right.” Balassone deserves compliments from the regional youth secretaries Saverio Gileno and of the party Daniele Marinelli.
