The 2024 edition of the Patronal Festival of Santa Lucia in Montefiore dell’Aso promises to be a breath of joy and a return to traditions promoted by the young Committee for the celebrations and the Board of Directors. The splendid novelty of this year is the development of a system of lights that illuminate the historic center, finally honoring the Saint in her most original meaning and historical sense.
Starting from Thursday 9 May, the celebrations for the Saint embrace a deeply religious approach, supported by the parish organization with an evening of prayer in procession, involving the main streets of the town. The program extends to Friday 10th with the traditional briscola competition, a heartfelt popular competition held in the splendid setting of Belvedere De Carolis, a game between 32 couples supported by local businesses.
The weekend continues on the evening of Saturday 11th, dedicated to the collaboration, now solid in every edition of the festival, with the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired, Section of Ascoli and Fermo and with the Asd Tangoteca with the show Skillfully, music and dance , understood as arts for all.
The program scheduled for Sunday 12 May represents the synthesis of the Committee’s objectives, attentive to social inclusion, sport, healthy and conscious entertainment, honoring the Saint and involving as much as possible all the citizens and associations of the country. From the collaboration between the Committee for the celebrations of Saint Lucia, the Patron Saint of Montefiore dell’Aso and the Marà Avis Marathon sports association, the second edition of the foot race dedicated to the memory of Luciano Giannetti will take place, a 10 km long road route competitive and non-competitive for sports enthusiasts. The highlight of the event will be seen on the evening of Sunday 12 May, with a show by the much loved Andrea Paris, presented by Angelo Carestia, coordinated by the Lido degli Aranci di Grottammare Association and the melodic Tribute Band “Il Canto libero”, a tribute to Lucio Baptists. At the end, a splendid fireworks display curated by the Allevi Fire Works, at 11pm.
