CIVITAVECCHIA – Twenty-two names (out of 24) completely new who have decided to apply for the first time. Eleven women and thirteen men in total, mainly from the professional and social world, well-known or very well-known in their work environment.
It is the United List for Civitavecchia presented by Marietta Tidei, candidate in the European elections, in support of Paolo Poletti as mayoral candidate and by Clemente Longarini, political coordinator of Italia Viva.
Marietta Tidei underlined “the novelties” of the Poletti candidacy, who was born and studied in Civitavecchia “and knows perfectly – she explained – not only the main current problems, but also those we are facing. He has decided, out of the love he feels for his city, to put into play all the knowledge developed in over 40 years of work, made above all of national and international relationships and contacts at the highest level. We therefore have the great opportunity to be reborn, facing together with him the enormous challenges that await us.”
Clemente Longarini explained how Italia Viva came to the decision to support Poletti’s candidacy, immediately after widening the choice of candidates to the entire Central area: «Building a house for the Reformists and Moderates or for those “of right” who are not at ease in the League and in Fratelli d’Italia when it comes to school, integration, rights and to those “on the left” who are once again denied the possibility of a generational change, of a renewal of women and men (always the same) and ideas (always the same). In short, the usual soup.”
For his part, Paolo Poletti, thanking the candidates for the commitment they have made, underlined how the young generations must be involved first in decisions regarding the future of the city «because the future is theirs and certainly Civitavecchia deserves more. This – he said – seemed to me to be a city abandoned to itself which is going through a phase of very strong uncertainty, but at the same time it has an extraordinary opportunity to finally take the path of sustainable development in favor of the environment, health and employment”.
