Cesena moves on to Mantua and wins the first match of the Serie C Super Cup. Toscano’s team will play for the trophy at home in the presence of Juve Stabia. The challenge between the former Reggina players goes to the coach of the last promotion to Serie B, Possanzini gets his first “taste” of Serie B.

After a first half lacking in excitement, Cesena broke the deadlock in the second with Corazza scoring a penalty. After Debenedetti’s momentary equalizer, Shpendi closed it out in injury time.

The first chance of the match belongs to Mantova in the 15th minute, with Mensah missing Bragantini’s assist, and Ciofi saving on the line. A minute later Cesena responded with Saber turning in Donnarumma’s cross. During the first half Mantova had more possession of the ball, with little emotion on both sides.

At the beginning of the second half, Cesena restarted with two changes: Francesconi and Corazza instead of Saber and Kargbo. The second half begins along the lines of the first, with Mantova holding more of the ball. In the 51st minute Pieraccini does well to thwart a potential opportunity for the red and whites, while in the 55th minute of the second half, De Rose wins a free kick from 25 meters with Adamo who forces Festa to clear it for a corner. In the 60th minute, Redolfi’s foul on Corzza in the area: Juventus’ 18 appears on the spot and gives Cesena the lead. In the 65th minute, a nice Shpendi-Berti combination but the shot from nine is too high. In the 72nd minute Bragantini manages to get in the shot, with Prestia clearing it for a corner. In the 83rd minute Monachello serves Debenedetti in the area, who manages to turn and beat Pisseri, bringing the match back into balance. In injury time, the ball remained in the Mantova area, Shpendi was the quickest to make it his own and score the final 2-1 goal. The match isn’t over yet, because at the end Monachello hits the crossbar, then Ciofi covers Pisseri’s exit who makes it to him.
