Crotone – Another edition, the fifth, of the May Day Theater Concert. This year too, in terms of participation and views regarding the part linked to social media, it was a success. This underlines the important growth that the event, created by Vincenzo Leto and the Guitti Senza Carrozzone Association, is continuing to have (artist playlist link). «This year we received 31 videos with the presence of 52 artists, who wanted to participate in this “party” – explained Vincenzo Leto – The following we had on our social media recorded important numbers as always.”
As happened in previous years, the May Day Theater Concert also brought with it live events, which the Association organized within the Castle of Santa Severina. These were: the fourth edition of Literary Competition – Maria Zumpano And Artists in the Courtyard. The latter was an evening of theater and music which saw the awarding of two prizes dedicated to the memory of “Antonio Pugliese” and “Fabio Bernardi”. The latter was delivered to the artist from Campania Greg Rega (link), while the Pugliese Prize was awarded to the association Source of Grace Ministry who have been helping the populations of Burkina Faso since 2015 (link).
Upcoming events, included within the May Day Theater Concert, will be: Artists on Stage for UNICEF and the award ceremony of Literary Competition for young writers – Vittoria Bonofiglio. “We are happy to have been able to replicate the “Artists on stage for UNICEF” event – said Vincenzo Leto – After last year’s success, we couldn’t help but try to propose this evening again. This year’s special guest will be Biagio Izzo, who will perform on the stage of the Alkmenon auditorium on the evening of May 23rd. For the success of this event I want to thank our partner Michele Affidato and all our supporters who have been at our side for some time now to offer the area a good cultural alternative. Chef Ercole Villirillo, the CAI Service Group, Dr. Francesco Lidonnici, Starbene, but also the ENVI Group, Cafasso and Figli, Antonio Arcuri with his company, Saipe Group, Elisabetta Brittelli’s agricultural company, the Group Marrelli, the Civico56, the Credenza di Nonna Franca and the Confartigiantato of Crotone. Historic and new friends who embraced the entire project and allowed us to create this beautiful utopia. Being able to make the public laugh, have fun and entertain them with an evening, but at the same time being able to raise funds for UNICEF Italia projects, fills me with joy. Because it is clear that something good is being done, but above all that we are all doing it together.”
The sum of €1,000.00 will be donated to UNICEF Italy to finance its important humanitarian projects; while another part of the proceeds will be used for the expenses of future events that will be organized by the Association. When further savings are made, these will be used by the Guitti Senza Carrozzone Association to finance its cultural and laboratory activities.
