CIVITELLA DEL TRONTO. He was found dead in the car that ended up on the embankment after he had broken through the parapet of a bridge. The victim is a 20-year-old boy resident in Ascoli. The body was only found at dawn by family members who were looking for him.
The tragedy occurred on provincial road 54, in the locality of Lisciano, on the border between Ascoli and Teramo, a few hundred meters from Gabbiano di Civitella del Tronto.
The victim’s name was Stefano Veleaof Romanian origins, who was driving a Peugeot car which crashed from an old bridge with a low brick parapet, ending up in the bed of the Marino stream.
It was the uncle who first discovered the accident yesterday morning who raised the alarm at 118 in Ascoli. The young man’s family, in fact, were immediately alarmed by the fact that the boy had not returned home and was not answering the phone.
For this reason they got into the car and started taking the opposite route to what the young man presumably would have had to take to return home.
