In these places we meet in prayer, you have a greater opportunity to experience strong internal reflection, which starts from the depths of the soul. An additional opportunity to look inside ourselves, to understand how strong or not our faith is, what we need to improve on, what to strengthen ourselves in and much more.

These are days that refresh the heart and soul, and which must be lived letting oneself be carried away by faith in the Lord. These days, there are several pilgrimages on the occasion of the fthis of the Holy Trinity, and the pilgrims move around Italy. In fact, in many places in our country, celebrations linked to it take place.

As in all things, however, unpleasant unexpected events can happenlike a serious accident that occurred this morning, Saturday 25 May, during a visit to a sanctuary.

From what we learn, a young man was apparently hit by a boulder that detached from the mountain which overlooks the sanctuary. This boulder would have descended into the valley and shattered into several smaller pieces. Unfortunately, as mentioned, one of these pieces would have hit a young man, who would have been first taken to the Colleferro hospital, and then to the Umberto I in Rome. Furthermore, the person in question was apparently hit in the face and is currently in stable condition.

The police and firefighters then arrived on site. There were hundreds of pilgrims who came to Vallepietra for the festival held every year and dedicated, precisely, to the Holy Trinity. Several pilgrims, after the fall of the rock and therefore not having the opportunity to visit the Sanctuarythey went back.

For tomorrow, May 26, all religious events planned have been cancelled. In the meantime, the area where the accident allegedly occurred was closed off for safety reasons. For the moment there is no news regarding when the sanctuary will reopen, as all measures will have to be put in place to make it accessible again.

The Vallepietra pilgrimage: the story

It is customary for the faithful to go to Vallepietra, in the province of Frosinone, every year to celebrate the Feast of the Holy Trinity. This is an event that involves hundreds of people. The sanctuary can be reached by bus or on foot, after walking for almost a day.

It is said that a man, while cultivating his land located on Colle della Tagliata, noticed two oxen dragging the plow fall into a ditch. Legend has it that the man, immediately running to see what had happened and certain that the animals were dead, he would have seen them, alive, while they adored the image of the Holy Trinitywhich appeared on a wall of the cave nearby.
