THE MATCH
Ready to go and it is Nichelino who is the first to move into the attack area driven by the verve of the excellent Asembe, who with his ideas always keeps the Collegiate defense’s guard high. The most dangerous conclusion in the first minutes, however, came from Perrone, who found the right shot in a melee in the Olympic area, but his crossbar denied him the joy of scoring. At this point the match is balanced throughout the central part of the half, then in the last ten minutes it heats up. It is Asembe who takes the spotlight with an insistent action: working well with his body he manages to break free and shoot from the edge, but Tomaino is very good at not being surprised. Borgo responds from the opposite side, with Beltrame in control. Then the flash of Peduto, who runs deep well served by Perrone and surprises the opposing goalkeeper coming out with a nice lob. To certify the advantage, the last chance is still for Asembe, whose conclusion from the edge goes out at the bottom of nothing.
In the second half, Collegno’s reaction is expected, but the Nickelians are still the first to show themselves around Tomaino, who has to thwart Aiello’s attempt whose shot was perfectly aimed under the crossbar. The excellent performance of Colarelli’s boys risks being wasted in the 7th minute, when the newly introduced Marinkovic takes advantage of a defensive inattention to insert himself between the opponents’ shirts and, face to face with Beltrame, makes no mistake with a precise divombolla. Okun tries to lead his men to the rescue with his indomitable spirit, but on the other side there are Aiello and Peduto who dominate and Asembe is always scary up front, still coming close to scoring with yet another left-footed lash which however ends high . So the chess number 7 is still thinking about getting his team back on track, heading home a precise corner kick taken to the far post. It’s the apotheosis and we move towards the finale without Beltrame getting his gloves dirty anymore. Then in the 25th minute Portelli came on and proved decisive in putting the match on ice in the 40th minute when he made it 3-1 served by Carvelli. Olympic’s last burst of pride leads to Okun’s crossbar and once the danger has escaped, the final whistle arrives and the Nichelino party can begin.
