The Attorney General Joseph Chinèon 22 May, spoke to the Culture and Education Commission of the Senate of the Republic in the presence of representatives of the sports clubs Juventus FCSpA, SSC Napoli SpA, Hellas Verona FCSpA and AC Milan SpA

Here is an extract of his statements on the Juventus case reported by virgilio.it:

“The president is here (Gianluca Ferrero, ed.) unfortunately we met during an important trial. On that occasion, the Turin Prosecutor’s Office concluded the investigations and handed over the documents, proving to be skilled or lucky, I don’t know with certainty. He had carried out actions that other prosecutors had not been able to carry out. The Federal Prosecutor’s Office decided to act on the basis of the documents received. I am a judge in life and I kindly ask you not to question my impartiality as a magistrate. I carry out the role of Federal Prosecutor for free, as a hobby, and I do it with the utmost commitment (…) I started the investigation after the Turin Prosecutor’s Office had carried out searches and I contacted the Deputy Prosecutor of Turin to ask if he could provide me with the documents.”
