Pasture – Lorenzo Rota Martir And Corinna Ghirardi in the roll of honor. Safety first. There 7th climb to Grignone “tutt d’un fià” as the “locals” like to define it, from this year dedicated to Claudio Ghezziundisputed king of Northern Grigna with over 5600 ascents, it was assigned in the reduced formula with arrival in Pialaral.

Given the weather uncertainty with the probability of strong thunderstorms, the drop in temperatures with zero temperatures just above 2000m altitude and the poor visibility which would have been a big problem in the event of injuries, the organizing committee did not want to take any risks: “We spoke with the Alpine Rescue men and since there were not the necessary safety conditions we postponed the start and shortened the race – he has declared Alberto Zaccagnipresident of Team Pasturo –. A necessary choice with respect for the athletes and every single volunteer present on the route. Of course we were sorry not to get to Brioschi, but it would have been much worse to put the security men in difficulty“.

THE RACE

The format, compared to the one tested in the previous 6 editions (7.5km and 1800m up) envisaged a development of 4km with 830m of positive difference in altitude with a straight start from the center of Pasturo and arrival at 1440m of Pialeral.

For the record, after a lightning start by Danilo Brambilla, the young Rota Martir took over, definitively breaking up the leading group.

For him I reached the finish line alone in 32’32”. Comeback second place for the other Bergamo native William Boffelli (33’07”) and third place for Brambilla in 33’43”. Next in order are Filippo Curtoni, Luca Albini, Davide Zugnoni, Giovanni Dedivittis, Mattia Gianola and Stefano Tavola.

For the women, Corinna Ghirardi gave an encore. After the 2023 success, the strong athlete from Camonia, an Italian by specialty, won with a finish time of 39’18”. Also on the podium with her were Claudia Boffelli (41’46”) and Beatrice Meloni (42’34”). Debora Benedetti, Camilla Calosso, Barbara Sangalli, Daniela Rota, Marianna Colombo, Manuela Pedrana and Anna Fumagalli also performed well.
